1 Samuel 30:11-31. Sometimes life can be like steering into a strong headwind. But it is often in these moments that God is accomplishing His greatest redemptive work in us and around us. God is always at work everywhere, with everybody. In this passage, an Egyptian slave learns that being cast out is prelude to being found; the Amalekites learn that obstinacy is prelude to judgement; David's men learned that prideful achievement is prelude to a sense of entitlement; and for David, gratitude was prelude to grace.
