Matthew 5:7-9. The first four Beatitudes refer to our relationship with God. They are vertical in nature. They describe how we can be right with God and enter into His kingdom. The final four refer to the horizontal; that is, our relationship to one another. Are you a merciful person? Is your heart pure? Are you a peacemaker in the world or do you stir up dissension?
